The Cornubia Park Sports Centre has unveiled its much-needed bathroom upgrades, delivering a fresh, modern, and accessible experience for the thousands of athletes, coaches, and visitors who use the venue each year.

Home of the Logan Thunder, the centre welcomes junior and senior teams from across Queensland, including hosting major tournaments such as the U16 State Championships just two months ago.

The completed works include brand-new accessible amenities, increased capacity, and modern fixtures designed to improve comfort, hygiene, and functionality. These upgrades address long-standing calls from the community and ensure the centre remains a top-tier facility for both local sports clubs and regional competitions.

Mitch Young, General Manager of Logan Basketball, said that the long awaited upgrades were welcomed by players, coaches, and staff.

“These upgrades have been a long time coming, and it’s great to see them come to fruition. Upgraded facilities like these ensure that our venue is competitive, welcoming, and able to continue to host events and tournaments that feature some of the best players from across the state including basketball and all indoor sport.” Young said.

For the many sports teams and individuals who train and compete at Cornubia Park, the improved facilities are already making a difference, particularly during busy competition periods when bathroom access is crucial.

This investment reflects an ongoing commitment to supporting local sport and fostering community wellbeing through high-quality infrastructure.

With the upgrades now complete, Cornubia Park Sports Centre is better equipped than ever to serve as a vibrant hub for sport and recreation in the region.
